Dowd Goes Hard: Obama could learn from Palin?

As the months of his Presidency go by and the headiness of the campaign is an increasingly distant memory, it's become apparent that President Barack Obama is human after all, flawed like the rest of us. Maureen Dowd says that his approval level is below 50%; News Writer in A World Of Progress TeamZine said that 60% of Republicans believe Acorn stole the election.

In response to this, I offer no less than my best Scooby Doo impersonation, smh, "huh?" Next thing you know, I'll read somewhere that Acorn was some kind of terrorist organization! But I digress...

The point I post to make is this, the media's dissatisfaction is starting to show. Maureen Dowd in mid-diss in today's New York Times (yes, that bastion of the liberal media establishment!) summarized the President's modus operandi:
Dither, dither, speech. Foreign trip, bow, reassure. Seminar, summit. Shoot a jump shot with the guys, throw out the first pitch in mom jeans. Compromise, concede, close the deal. Dither, dither, water down, news conference.

She suggests he take a page from Palin's book and connect with his base--and stay connected.
