In Closing

Another New Year's Eve is upon us, so it seems a good time to reflect on 2010. All in all, it was a very good year. First of all, that uber fantastic snowpocalypse we got in February was AWESOME!! That was my favorite thing of the year, no doubt, followed at second perhaps by the crystal clear waters and temperate (not humid) climate of the Bahamas.

In the pop culture arena, music and lyrics by The Script were my favorite. On TV, Modern Family; hilarious writing, good ensemble cast. THANKFULLY, The Apprentice returned to its original format, locale and scheme, and made for good tv again. I'm also thankful that Real Housewives of DC wasn't quite as catty and shallow, and not at all ghetto as some of the other Housewives shows. (Thank you, especially, to Stacie Scott Turner, her hubby and peeps. I wasn't thrilled with Lifetime's production of Project Runway (and even less so with this year's winner travesty), but hopefully next year it'll suck less.

Favorite flicks this year included Catfish, The Invention of Lying, Trouble the Water, and Inside Job.
Cultural phenomena I'm proud to have missed: Willow Smith Whipping her Hair, and Snooki being and doing whoever she is and whatever she does. (I never saw that video or heard the song about Pants on the Ground either, but I think that was last year...)
Cultural phenomenon I'm proud to have seen: Bernie Sanders, standing up for Everyman. Cultural phenomenon I'm pissed to have witnessed: the Obama Administration squandering their opportunity by not cultivating the relationship with the hordes of younguns who voted them in, and thereby losing the majority in the House, bringing 'Change' to a dead halt.
BRING ON 2011. Wishing you all a safe celebration and Happy and Prosperous New Year!
