WOW. He's Santa Claus: he'd order the Treasury Secretary to buy up all the bad mortgages out there!? Did I really just hear him say that? That's bold and will appeal to some--unless or until they think more deeply. It's, given the current burgeoning economic crisis, a bit myopic and insulting. With whose dime are these bad mortgages going to be paid? Who determines who determines what the definition of bad mortgage is?
