I was still gapemouthed from Wednesdays BBC report of (7?) British soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan by a police officer they'd mentored and worked with every day for months, when news of the Fort Hood shooting struck. It brought to mind the Taliban's audacious statement after the first incident, taking credit for it, and seemingly boasting that they'd infiltrated the Afghani police force--and there would be more such incidents. I wondered whether the guy at Fort Hood, a soldier, was also an infiltrator, biding time before he waged stateside destruction.

It is so hard to make sense of so many things that happen in this world we live in. Tragedies like these that are so senseless are very frustrating.
Whether he was or wasn't officially associated with a terrorist organization, the Fort Hood shooter can still be labeled a terrorist. Terrorist organizations spread their poison just as well by inspiring disaffected loners like the Fort Hood gunman as they do by training and officially sponsoring terrorist groups.
